Leadership

The sphere of Governance is responsible for ensuring unity, justice, peace and stability among people. In Africa, Governance related challenges have persisted and have been characterized by bloody ‘Coup d’Etats’, dictatorships, misuse and abuse of the positions held by most political leaders, unpredictable leadership changes, corruption, policy reversal and weak institutional patterns. Proverbs 14:34; “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

In light of the political realities on the African continent, which include poverty, refugees, loss of lives by young people in the Mediterranean as they try to run away from hopeless situations at home, high mortality rates, selfish and corrupt leaders and generally lack of responsible and accountable leaders, the Church must pray for righteous leaders to emerge.

These will be authentic Christians who embody the character of Christ such as servant leadership, leading by example, diligence, selflessness, humility, responsibility, high moral standards and the love for God’s people from whom society will select great leaders at all levels that will spur the transformation of the lives of African people.
