Religion

Christianity (as a Religion) was introduced by colonialists in a distorted manner as a tool for an easy entry into African society and an institution that could effectively dismantle traditional African organizational systems. This led to the creation of numerous Christian denominations that seldom had any interest in improving the warfare of an African to cultivate the right mindset that would lead to a positive transformation, which should be virtues of hard work, responsibility, valuing time, education and creativity among others.

Christian religions (churches) have since continued to be recipients of multiple doctrines from their parent churches in the west, which have inflicted damage to the positive African culture and values. Examples are such as same-sex marriages in churches, irresponsible Christians who live without a purpose, only waiting to pass to heaven, misplaced beliefs in miracles, competition and animosity among Christian denominations, lack of sound knowledge of the Bible by church ministers (and yet God revealed Himself through His Word).

The Church of Jesus Christ in Africa, therefore, needs to go back to the basics of Christian teachings and disciple people to be responsible, prayerful and authentic followers of Christian faith and especially in actions according to the Holy Scriptures. John 8:32; “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
