Unravelling the secret code of Africa's evolution A Journey of Challenges and Hope

On the picturesque slopes of Mt. Hermon, an extraordinary gathering of believers from around the world assembled for the Africa Arise Conference. As the sun began to rise, the ethereal sound of praise and worship filled the air, led by the talented musicians of Asaph International. The atmosphere was electric with spiritual fervours and anticipation for the day's revelations.
Guiding the event with grace and wisdom, Pastor Flori assumed the role of the moderator, setting the tone for what was to come. The first speaker to take the stage was the representative of the National Police of Rwanda, who shared about the Gerayo amahoro awareness campaign. This crucial initiative aimed to remind people about the importance of safety while using the roads, be it with cars, motorbikes, bicycles, or simply as pedestrians. It served as a powerful reminder for everyone to be vigilant and cautious to prevent road accidents.

Amidst the sea of congregants from diverse corners of the globe, the revered figure of Apostle Dr. Paul Gitwaza took the stage. As the Father of the house, he extended a warm welcome to all attendees and introduced the esteemed Man of God, Dr. Francis Mbandiga, who was to deliver the day's sermon.
With a compelling presence, Rev. Dr. Francis Michel Mbandiga commenced the sermon, delving into the fascinating and profound story of Abraham and how it intertwined with Africa's evolution and challenges. Quoting from Genesis 25:5-6, he revealed the divine blessings promised to Abraham and how his descendants would possess the gate of their enemies, ultimately becoming a blessing to all nations.

Drawing parallels, the preacher explained Africa's potential for divine blessings, citing Abraham's second wife, Keturah, who bore African descendants. Six names from Keturah's children held the key to understanding Africa's journey (Genesis 25:1-2):

  • Zimran, meaning musician and music, symbolized Africa's beauty, melodies, and rich natural wonders.
  • Jokshan, meaning the one who traps or becomes a trap, signified the painful history of slavery and betrayal.
  • Medan, meaning dispute and altercation, represented the consequences of injustices and divisions.
  • Midian, meaning fight, battle, and confrontation, spoke of historical conflicts within Africa.
  • Ishbak, meaning he liberates, acknowledged Africa's liberation struggles but also the unintended aftermath of some actions.
  • Shuah, meaning depression, sinking, pointed to the lows Africa faced due to accepting harmful cultural influences.

Through these names, the preacher emphasized how Africa faced challenges but also possessed a deep resilience to overcome them. He called for learning and adaptation, urging Africans to be wary of narratives that may hinder their growth. He cautioned against the promotion of ideas conflicting with African culture and values.
Dr. Mbandiga stressed the importance of listening to the Word of God, sacrifice, and obedience, both on an individual level and for the continent of Africa as a whole. He spoke of the Holy Spirit's gift to Africa, igniting hope and unity, with the potential to touch every aspect of life.
The conclusion of the sermon left the congregation in awe as they understood the significance of embracing the boundless nature of the Holy Spirit and repentance for past wrongs.
As the day drew to a close, Apostle Dr. Paul Gitwaza returned to lead the congregation in worship and prayer, creating an atmosphere of profound connection with the Divine. The event culminated with an invitation for those seeking Christ to receive Him as their Savior.
In the shadows of Mt. Hermon, a sacred journey unfolded - a journey that unwrapped the enigmatic code of Africa's evolution, its past challenges, and its hope-filled future. The Africa Arise Conference served as a milestone in the spiritual awakening of the continent, urging its people to stand united, embrace their heritage, and rise to their divine destiny. As the attendees dispersed, carrying the echoes of Dr. Mbandiga's sermon, they were filled with renewed determination to be beacons of positive change and to create a brighter future for Africa, one enriched by faith, love, and unity.
