Rise And Build Africa As One Nation Under God

Amid a vibrant celebration of faith and unity, the inaugural service of the Africa Haguruka #25 Opening Ceremony set the stage for a transformative event, centred around the theme “Rise and Build Africa as One Nation Under God,” inspired by Nehemiah 2:17 and Ezra 10:4.

The ceremony commenced with an inspiring session of praise and worship led by Asaph International, which created a spiritually uplifting atmosphere throughout the gathering. Apostle Paul Gitwaza warmly welcomed attendees from near and far, establishing an inclusive and warm tone.
Today's event was highlighted by the introduction of the preacher, Tonya Hall, by Apostle Paul Gitwaza. She began her sermon by expressing her gratitude and celebrating the 25th anniversary of Africa Arise.

Tonya Hall opened her message with a question: “Has anyone here experienced the love of grandparents?” She shared a story about how her grandparents, who were builders, loved and cherished her by teaching her the art of building.

She continued by explaining that, just as bricks are needed to stabilize a wall, unity and equality are foundational for proper construction. Faith and God’s guidance were likened to essential elements that ensure builders can complete their work effectively.

Drawing from Nehemiah 2:17, she identified three key elements:

  1. A Great Work
She emphasized the importance of acknowledging the significant task at hand and not being deterred by challenges. She cited the phrase, "I’m doing a great job, I cannot come down," underscoring the need to recognize the destruction around and engage with thinkers, pioneers, drivers, and even those who may discourage.

She highlighted Rwanda as a notable example of a nation that has risen from the ashes of genocide to become a thriving country through justice, healing, and empowerment, and thanked the Lord for it. She challenged us to love one another as Africans and start our great work in unity, despite the difficulties, by donning spiritual armor.

  2. The Enemies
She described how, in the process of building, one might encounter enemies such as destroyers, discouragers, and distractors. These adversaries can be external forces or internal struggles, including emotions, thoughts, and sins. She encouraged seeking the Lord’s presence and forgiveness to combat these internal enemies and to differentiate between true supporters and detractors.

  3. The Way Maker
Tonya Hall spoke about how God has blessed us with beauty and capabilities, urging us to stop self-deprecation and instead embrace our strengths. She emphasized the importance of self-love, respect, and accepting the Lord’s guidance as our way maker and mentor.

In conclusion, she proclaimed that it is time for Africans to rise up and build with love and unity.
